Baron De Montesquieu- Essay Baron De Montesquieu, born Charles Louis de Secondat was one of the near known and influential philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment. His major break away, The Spirit of the Laws, was a generator of huge influence to political leaders in the States and other European nations. He explored ideas of a republican crap of government, abolition of slavery and, the most important of all, his theory of conviction interval of powers. The Framers borrowed many of his ideas and philosophical beliefs and also incorporated it in the US constitution. Montesquieus philosophy was highly regarded and it had a massive part in the shaping of the US constitution. Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de la Brède et de Montesquieu, was born on January 18, 1689, in La Brède, France, clean outside of Bordeaux, to an aristocratic family with considerable wealth in landholdings. His mother, Marie Françoise de Pesnel who died when Charles de Secondat was seven, was a female inheritor of a large financial heritage who brought the title of barony of La Brède to the Secondat family. As a young man, he studied Latin, French, history, and the law forwards graduating from the University of Bordeaux in 1708. In 1715 he married Jeanne Lartigue, whose family brought him tremendous wealth, and a class later his uncle died leaving him with his title of Baron de la Brède and property making him immensely rich.
